What is a Sound Mandala?  The Argonauts of Sound create one-time, concept pieces that are performed live with no pre-production, song structure, or formulated outcomes.  The Sound Mandalas will never be performed live again, and they are turned into perfect digital-dust.   Each concept is discussed just prior to the live performance and the recordings are captured in timeless, sacred spaces.  The Argonauts of Sound invite the listener to explore the intended concepts.

Amenti -

Preformed in a renovated Water Tower in Mendocino, CA; the initial piece was forged in the evening hours.  The first Song Mandala is titled 'Amenti' and brings to light the concept of a better place between the folds of Space/Time. Hidden from the view of those who cannot See the Truth between their own Desires.

These are long, detailed musical pieces, and they are best served listening through with a good set of speakers or headphones, a long drive, or a moment of meditation.

The Golden Womb-

Preformed in a sacred forest in Northern California beneath the base of the Golden City.  This is the first of 5 creations to be offered from this session. The Golden Womb or Hiranyagarbha (the All), is a concept of birth, bliss, and the state of supreme consciousness.

Have we lost our way?  How are we treating the beauty in our World?  How do we speak the Truth?  Check in with your path.  These are the question this time implores Us all to ask of ourselves.

Taijasa-

Taijasa - 'Brilliance or Being in Dream' - This track is the last track recorded of the 5 pieces created on Mt. Shasta. All tracks are recorded live with one take, and there is very minimal post production. The concept of this piece is to explore being present in the dream or 'spirit world'. We live in an infinite universe and our individual openness to this concept unlocks ideas and possibilities. Being able to feel the presence and pulse of the unknown rests in Taijasa.

Svana

Svana (स्वन).—m. Sound. In late Spring, during the increasing protests and lock downs; two daring Argonauts ventured in the woods of upper Peninsula in Washington State. Their intended mission was to produce music using only the sounds generated from an old fort, and the reverb allotted their instruments, from the old concrete corridors. Svana....in the old language was to mean Thunder, wind, the depth of Sound. As is the usual, the Post-production was minimal, all the sounds were generated from the old fort, and the natural acoustics are the only addition to the notes. The poem, 'War Torn' was inspired and written on the last day of recording and studying the old fort.
